How is a school medical certificate issued?
The process of obtaining a school certificate in the Czech Republic takes place in several stages.
Medical examination
Preparation Guidelines
A medical examination is required to ensure that the child is healthy and ready to start school. During the consultation, the doctor:
- performs a general health check;
- measures the child’s height and weight;
- checks vision and hearing;
- assesses posture, joint mobility and physical development;

Vaccination check
The next step is to verify the child’s vaccination status. This is important, as each country has its own vaccination schedule. The doctor:
- reviews the vaccination record or documents from the country of origin;
- compares administered vaccines with Czech requirements;
- checks that all mandatory vaccinations are completed (e.g. diphtheria, polio, measles and others).
If information is missing or recorded in another language, our specialists will help properly prepare the documentation for Czech authorities.
Vaccination plan
If there are gaps in the vaccination schedule or certain vaccines have not been administered yet, the doctor will create an individual vaccination plan.
- The patient is informed about mandatory vaccinations.
- A convenient vaccination schedule is arranged based on the child’s age and health.
- If necessary, vaccination can be performed directly at the clinic.
This ensures the child receives all required vaccinations according to local standards, enabling safe and smooth school enrolment.
Issuing the certificate
After the examination and verification of all data, the doctor prepares an official document — the school medical certificate. The certificate is issued in Czech and meets the requirements of educational institutions.
