Preservation in a specialised liquid medium enhances sample quality and allows detection of even the slightest pathological changes. This method is recommended by WHO, FIGO, and ASCCP as an effective tool for the early detection of cervical cancer and HPV.
At Dobro Clinic, the examination is carried out with full confidentiality and in a comfortable environment — our team includes staff fluent in multiple languages, and each patient is assigned a personal care coordinator.
A gynecologist may refer you for this test if there is suspicion of precancerous changes or oncology, for evaluation of epithelial cell composition, or to confirm the effectiveness of previously prescribed treatment.

Key Features of Liquid-Based Cytology

The biomaterial is collected by a doctor during a gynaecological examination using a speculum. A specialised brush is used to obtain cells from the cervical canal and ectocervix, which are immediately placed into a vial containing a preservative solution. While in the liquid medium, the sample retains its structural integrity, ensuring highly accurate and informative results. The procedure is painless and comfortable, and patients can communicate with a Russian-speaking gynaecologist throughout.
